panel view plus 600

Could someone help me with this issue?

I've been trying to upload a file from pv+600, it only has rs 232 port.

everything looks good even it starts to upload on transfer utility. but when it goes over 3%.. 5%.. or 15%..., the transfer stops.
then it sends a message about cip xx4x or like that.
The laptop doesn't have serial port,only usb.
It has a usb/serial converter.

I've tried several time, even I stoped all usb port and worked only one with no succes.
I have factory talk me 6.

any suggestion.

It's probably CIP 0x0204, which indicates a timeout. Maybe that USB/RS232 converter just won't work for sustained data transfer.

I like the Keyspan HS-19 unit and have never had any problems with it.

Your alternative to the serial port is to use a CompactFlash memory card and transfer the *.MER file to that, then put it into a reader or adapter to be read by your PC.

I would call the vendor or automation group who developed the panelview application. You should ask them for the Project backup(.apa file). This will enable you to make changes later if you want to add capabilities.

As above but I generally use a USB memory stick for transferring the *.mer file, you can copy to using the menu with the PV+.

Compact flash is the most reliable way. USB thumb drives work most of the time, but I have ran into situations where they won't work. If you have one handy, it's worth a shot.

thanks all.

I got a compact flash from the company with the file on it.
I could copy it on the new pv+.

everything is working well, now I have the new pv ready to work if we have any trouble, because the old one looks bad.

I'll try to get the compact flash reader to copy that file.
I'll let you know if I can.

pv+ and micrologic 1500

hello all...:site:

I want to find out how to make a connection between a pv+ 600 and micrologic 1500 lrp..

I had a pv+ talking with micrologic.. I uploaded the mer. file from the old pv+ , then I downloaded it to the new one
now when I hook up them there is no action.... the old one has its case broken but there is communication.

I set it (new) to auto configure driver and tried without auto configure and nothing happened....

when I dwnloaded, I push.... replace communication of the aplication and tried again with no replace... but it did not work..

I applied power to both ,,,, the ME station has the same value on terminal settings,, and application settings.
the only diference they have it´s on shortcut screen...the old one has shortcut :
SERIAL- DF1
MICROLOGIC LRP:
DH 485.

the new one has Shortcut:
SERIAL DF1
( no device )


I hope someone can help with...
