NS designer vs CX Designer...

HI all,

I have a NS screen with a current program in it working fine. It was done by a machine builder using NS Design software. I want to add to it.

I have CX-one software, which contains CX Designer.
Can CX designer upload/edit and then D/L a NS designer program back to the NS screen with out issue?

I am using USB cable to slave port on PT.
I have installed USB Driver.
I have connected and uploaded what appears to be the project.
I dont think it is the whole project though? Because when I ask it to TRANSFER back to PT...it shows no screens in left hand window?
Also, what appears to be missing is some "pnlpg" files and the RCI file?

No problem.
You can upload from the screen, or CX-Designer will open the NS-Designer program.
They're essentially the same product, with jus t a name change to fit into the CX-One suite.

Must have missed them, if not.

I would guess it's a window layout problem. Post the uploaded project if you want, and I'll take a look.

Thanxs guys, I was hoping to hear that they were "essentially" the same.
I guess I have an issue with this missing RCI file not uploading then?

It's strange, because I can connect, upload and then edit the project but to Download it back to the PT I can't see any project in the window (transfer program) on the left side to send? If I compare the old origianl project from the m/c builder and compare it to what I uploaded, the only missing file is this RCI.000 file?
I am at home now, I will try to post it when I am at work next.

i am stuck in a problem with OMRON NS12-v2. its internal CF Card get faulty, bought new 128 MB CF Card and trying to Recover NS-PT using cx-Designer's Recovery Update 8.92 with a newly purchased 1 GB CF Card. but no luck, PT Green light get on But Screen remains black. nothing happened. tried many methods but nothing works. please help

A normal CF card will not work. You need to buy one from Omron. DOS formatted and I think maximum 2 Gig. Ypu could try reformatting it in an old camera.
