Sorry guys and gals I recently was sent the following email and had to share it. It seems pretty honest and straight forward. Its to bad the people in power wont ever see this.

I have read and fully agree with the contents of this letter. I do however have some things to add onto it that should also be noted.

1. A few years ago I worked for a meat packing facility. They would not give us 4th of July off but they would give the others Cinco De Meyo (sp?)

2. Its to bad our own govenment whom we elect, or at least thing we elect, can not stand up for the people. They cater to the illegals and do little for the natural born. The last president with balls was FDR or I think it was FDR. In one of the chats he said THIS IS AMERICA AND ENGLISH IS THE SPOKEN AND WRITTEN LANGUAGE. This should be the case but we have TV providers whom put foreign channels on their networks and then expect everyone to pay for it. What has happened to the if you dont want or use it why pay for it?

3. Greed is the primary reason our economy is in the shambles it is in. Banks and lenders not doing their job and writing bad mortgages. The players in the stock market such as that Soros guy mentioned here. And many others. I mean I recently heard where most countries the CEO rates are like 18 to 24 times the average of the employees, and that if there are fewer employees to manage the ceo makes less. Sounds like a fair way. But is it the way the USA does it??? NO the average pay of the ceo's in the USA is 400 to 450 times.

4, Then we have NAFTA and other government rules that allow these managment people to send the jobs overseas so they can make a bigger profit while paying people less. Again refers back to greed.

5. Then you have the govenment again who has been in office for far to long and can not see the problems. I think that all the the government offices should have term limits same as the president. here is a big problem, sign and enact NAFTA, jobs go overseas, now you have all the people whom did work for that company on unemployement, then you have all the illegals which the government is doing nothing about, they are getting all kinds of government money free of charge, so the governement looks at this and what do they choose to do? Well we must raise taxes. Which now makes it even harder for John Q public which puts more out of work and the visious cycle just keeps getting bigger and bigger, Much like a snow ball rolling down hill.

Come on people wake up get the dead weight out of governement. Dead weight would be people like the Kennedy clan and I sure there are others.

Now onto our education, lets put it bluntly, it really stinks. I have a friend whom is a professor and says that kids comming from school nowdays dont even know differential equasions. then like in the school in calif where they let them fly the mexican flag and the other schools where they let the kids speak eubonics and when they turn in reports they can use things such as the slang used in IM and text messaging? This is BS. Where has this country gone???

Yesterday is history.

Tomorrow is a mystery.

Today is a gift.

The author of that paragraph certainly proved the point that his/her education really stinks.

The quoted text in the OP surely has to be a spoof, or written as a satirical comment?

Although it is presented as a valid viewpoint by the OP I can't believe that someone, even in the US, would submit a post written like this and have any serious intent that it would be accepted at face value.

The section dealing with education (or should that be 'edyookayshun'?) is just hilarious. It fits in perfectly. Throughout the post we have the writer's continued defence of English and antipathy towards other languages, all written in barely competent English itself.

I can only suggest one comment - Magnifico!

Ken

BTW: Why is incompetence in typing articulate conventional languages dismissed as 'just tipos' in this forum, whereas incompetence in typing software instructions would be criticised heavily and regarded as unforgivably poor quality engineering?

Sorry for not posting a proof read document. I did as the one stated person said GOOGLED the name and it sure enough did come up to a web site. I checked that document and the same typos and language was in that one as well. There was also several other postings on that web page that pertained to the same topic. And sure enough there was several of them that had typos as well. So I appologize for not proofing the document first. But it does speak to the heart of the documents nature. Typos, incorrect grammer, etc.. all pertain to the education. And the illegals part of it speaks the best. I am not racist in anyway and dont want to keep anyone from getting a better life. I mean I am only a 5th generation citizen. My Great, Great grandfather on my dads side came here from Germany. But it just irks me when our country bends over backwards to make all these people happy. If you come here and your not happy, leave. If you dont like the IN GOD WE TRUST, plug your ears or dont read it. If you dont like whats on radio turn it. If you work here on US soil pay taxes like the rest of us. And the list goes on and on. This is America, Land of the free, home of the proud, but lately these lines are getting really blured with all the burecrats and lawyers and what not. Sorry to rant it just gets very irritating when your own government does not listen or see the problems.

Oh, this is great. You scatter some breadcrumbs on the surface, and up the fish come! :)

Let's try some more -

So if someone disagrees with the standards of society in a country the recommended response is 'accept it for what it is, go away, leave it alone, ignore it'? Hmmm.... now let's see, where does that place a certain country with respect to the standards of society in, say, Iran and Afghanistan?

(Maybe I'll try worms the next time ...)

While knit-picking the typos or poor grammer may seem funny to some, "We the people..." have to live in this mess created by some of the worst that the far left have to offer. Here in the south we have too much of the poor immigration policies staring us in the face everywhere we turn. We have laws that are not obeyed and politicians that won't fund the agencies created to enforce those laws. Google LULAC and see what they are all about. I have a family of mixed race, hispanic, and we ALL agree that illegal immigration is a huge problem.

If people don't like it here then they are welcome to leave. Let the government pay the ticket price for them to return home and all of our taxes will go down. Let the ACLU pick up the tab for all of the wrongs that seem to be heaped upon the poor, disenfranchised folks that don't want to work or that think that employment at McDonalds was meant to support a household of kids instead of paying attention in school or going to the school of hard knocks and learning a trade that will sustain them and their families.

Perhaps this is not the right forum for this discussion but the article does ring true for many of US here in the good old USA.

End rant!!!

Which PLC are you using?

What is the part number of your VFD?

What size motor is attached?

Which operating system are you using?

On which side of the desk is your mouse located when not in use?

Are you using a flat screen monitor?

Does your car have a CD player?

If jane and Todd bought a PLC and needed to program it, how many posts would it take to figure out their first question?

In my opinion. When you are just talking about what you think typos are allowed. When it is how a machine is supposed to operate then no typo's allowed.

As for the rest of the topic here. I am believe that imgration is a sad joke. CEO's profits should be tied directly to the companies profits. How much they make is based on what they can get. If they can pay themselves several million and the company still turn a profit then go right ahead, but when they can not, they go broke like the rest of us. Basically, I believe if your in charge your responsible. I also believe a bonus should be just that, if you cause your company to generate extra profits then you get more. This I get a bonus because I showed up to work is **** as far as I am concerned.

Well anyway that is my 2 cents worth.

This may sound off topic but stay with me -

We have seen cood companies selling (at a premium) food certified as 'organic'. Some see that as valuable and are willing to pay the premium.

How about a certification authority which will check a company and certify that all its employees are legally allowed to work in this country. I'm not suggesting immigration authorities. If emplyees are found who aren't legally employed then the company just doesn't get certified. No one is reported. The company can then use that certification label in its advertising.

Maybe a company's costs would be higher by hiring only legal workers. Maybe they would have to charge more for their product than a non-certified company. Would you pay more for a product from a certified company?

If we want to curb illegal immigration then the incentive must be removed. The only way to do that is economic pressure on the companies hiring illegaly. Are you willing to be part of the pressure?

When you are just talking about what you think typos are allowed.
So what that means is there are no typos? If errors are permitted then surely they are no longer considered errors?
And bie eksten shun yoo kan spel whot yue wont sew long az yuo arr tok king bourt whut ue think, uh-hu?

(Breadcrumbs, worms, I'm going to try some real bait later ... :))

The reason we can get away with typos is because we are allowed to. We can not get away with them in software instructions because the software catches our mistakes and will not tolerate them.

I was poking some fun. It is going to be so nice when I become perfect and stop making typos.

I do not agree with many of the sentiments expressed in that message.

I do not agree with the sentiment this is America - English only. We should have two years of foreign language in high school with emphasis on Spanish - why? Our neighbor speaks it - if we want to do business with him we need to speak it.

I hired a guy who spoke Vietnamese and two dialects of Chinese. I spoke only English - who was smarter? He learned English quickly.

The immigration problem is our own making. When we are willing to pay Americans to pick lettuce at a competitive wage WITH a higher market price
THEN there will be no demand for immigrant labor.

Yes I would be willing to pay more for products made in America produced by workers in a safe work environment and paid a decent wage. I try to buy American from the guy down the street. I do not do business with Walmart because I believe they are a sweatshop.

NAFTA is a good thing. We must buy what they have and they must buy what we have. We cannot isolate our business we must trade.
If a foreign country can build it better
AND at a survivable wage in their country
AND with all the hoops we gotta jump thru (EPA etc) it does make it tough to do in USA. Maybe we should get smarter and do it better. Very tough to do when the playing field is not level I agree. Outsourcing and going overseas only encourages it.

Boeing and Airbus are a good example. If the US govmt wants to buy from Airbus ie the tanker fine and dandy. What are they going to do for parts? Boeing still has all the tooling for any airplane still in use and can build any part. Will Airbus?

I surely do not have all the answers - I have trouble understanding the questions / issues.

Dan,
No problem. There is something in this forum that catches your mistakes and will not tolerate them. Hey, wait a minute - that's me!

How did I get this job? I'm foreign labor, and not adequately skilled. I must be working below the minimum wage doing this spellchecking. In fact, I do believe I'm doing it free, throwing all the true US spellcheckers out of a job by undercutting them. Quick, ban me from the Internet and World Wide Web. Have me sent back to the Middle Ages where I belong. My filthy foreign habits are not wanted here.

You volunteered so you have the job. Its a dirty one but someones gotta do it. I find it nearly impossible to catch my own typos. The good thing about them is it leaves something for someone to complain about that is easily fixed.

Bernie, I like the way you think. Similar to the UL label or the Good Housekeeping seal of approval. That second reference probably provides a clue to my age. Given that municpalities compete with each other over who can offer the best package of tax incentives to companies looking to relocate or expand, the same certification should be a prerequisite to receiving any tax breaks.

Certification needn't be all that difficult. You could use the model of the credit score the banks already use. Take each of the acceptable means of documenting that you are who you say you are (US passport, birth certificate, social security card, green card, etc) and assign a numeric rating to each depending on the hoops a person has to go through to obtain that document and the difficulty of counterfeiting one. An individual's score would be the sum of the ratings for each piece of documentation he or she can produce. In order to get a job, an applicant needs to produce sufficient documentation to achieve a high enough score. To get certified, the HR department of a company has to demonstrate that the average score for all of their employees is above some acceptable level.
