hi everyone, I'm new in this site, hoping to expand my basic knowledge on plc. I got this fixed slc500 on online store for a cheaper price. But I noticed lately that its cable(1747-pic) is almost the same price as the plc hardware. I would like ask if there's any alternative cable for 1747 pic? Thank you in advance.

Does your computer have a real serial port? You will need one for this device.
If not then the 1747-UIC ( USB to DH485) is what you need.$$

I got the SLC 500 L30C with 2 expansion rack and 2 I/O card for $50, includes the shipping cost. I bought this for home, for program practicing/playing. The 1747 UIC I think is more expensive, so I think I would just settle for the replacement cable.
