S7-300 to Quantum DP Exchange

Greetings,

We've got a project that requires a few bytes sent each way between the a 315F-2DP and a Modicon Quantum (unsure what model, I haven't touched modicon yet)

I'm responsible for the 300, and it seems I've pretty much got to be responsible for the data exchange both ways if possible. We're using profibus DP, and both processors are required to be masters. Mine has slaves, and the quantum has other jobs.

I could use a bit of an idea as to how to go about it. I've read a bunch of help files but am a little short on relevant knowledge. There's a great how-to for using the 300 as a slave located here: http://www.automation.schneider-electric.com/system_user_guides/system_user_guides.htm

But alas, I can't seem to find something for Master-Master setup.

Obviously I'll need to setup a station in net pro for the quantum, but I'm not sure what blocks are appropriate for the exchange....

It sounds as if a gateway might be a good solution for you.
From what I understand both PLC´s are Profibus masters and thus a gateway would enable you to exchange data between the two. HMS has such a gateway, for more information go to:

Hi,

What´s price on a unit like this, compared to lets say a common used DP/DP coupler from Siemens?

It says "to be configured in windows hyper terminal", what kind of setup is to be done?

I don´t have a price comparison, so I cannot say. Our gateway also supports DPV1, so a comparison might not be fair...
The gateway is configured via HyperTerminal, where the I/O size, offline option etc are set.
I should also say that our gateways are usually used to connect different fielbuses, like Ethernet/IP to Profibus or Modbus + to LonWorks.
