rslinx to slc/5

hi good people, i am trying to connect to a slc via ethernet but i can not see it in rslinx i have tried ping the address but thats not see it ether looking at a copy of the program the ip address is 192.168.0.1 255.255.255.0 and the laptop is 192.168.0.123 255.255.255.0 any ideas. thanks stu

No ping...No RSLinx.

First, check cables/switches/hubs/indicator lights...

Alright, are you going straight to the processor or through a switch? If going straight to the ethernet port you will need a crossover cable.

Concentrate on being able to ping the processor. After this, make sure in RsLinx driver configuration you add the PLCs address. Until you do this it wont show up in RsWho.

+1 on the cable. If using a standard ethernet patch cable, you'll need to put a switch in.
