Anyone Know The Difference Between Ser-A and The Ser-B?
Check AB Library Documentaion, No Luck Yet.
Thank's.

Want To Use MicroLogix-1000 Ser-C And HMI [RS232 DF1],
[Especially Since RSMircoLogix Lite w/Rslinx Is Free]
And Laptop [O.S. Vista] Network For My Grandson's Education,
Starting 8th Grade This Year, Spent Summer Here,
Like's The PLC Stuff, Show's Intrest, Got Basic Logic
[Simple]Instruction's Down.
Like Some Kid's Spend's Alot Of Time On PC,
Need To Get A New Direction Going.
Thank's

The difference between the 1761-NET-AIC Series A and B must just be a component change. The Net-AIC has undergone no functional changes since it was introduced in 1995 or so.

It shouldn't have any role in your DF1 application, though.

I think the most practical thing to do is to just disconnect the HMI when you need to go online with RSLogix 500.

There is no simple way to get a DF1 HMI, a MicroLogix 1000, and an RSLogix 500 computer running Windows Vista to communicate simultaneously.

The Port Splitters won't work (Port 2 is for outgoing network messages only) and DH485 won't work (no Vista driver for AIC+/PIC and the HMI is DF1).

The only method I can think of is to use three 1761-NET-DNI modules in peer-to-peer mode.

A more practical method to get both RSLogix 500 and the HMI online would be to get a MicroLogix 1200 2-port controller or a MicroLogix 1100 with Ethernet.

Thank's Ken,
How About Under Windows XP / Professional?
Same Orignal Hardware Set-up.

Looked @ The 1762 Dual Port Version, That Would Work.

Want To Get PLC & HMI & PC All On 1 Network So My Grandson
Can Have A PLC Trainer w/HMI Simulator and Interact With It
Simultaneous, +RSlinx Node Network.

The HMI Is A CTC/Parker PowerStation 10,
Being A CTC/HMI w/ There MachineShop Shell Installed
Requires No PLC Programming or Converters To Communicate
On RS232 D-Shell Comm Port w/ABDH Driver, Just The
3-Wire Blue Belden Cable, And Configuring HMI
RS232 Baud, 8,N,1,Error Checking, ect. Not Like AB Pnlviews.
[Using The CTC/HMI Under RS-485 w/SLC5 Driver, Have Not Got
It Working Yet, Still Trying, OEM Supports RS-485].

So, I Was Thinking Since RSMicroLogix Lite Supports VISTA
Was Going To Try And Use 2, 1761-Net-AIC+'s,

1st One For PLC MicroLogic-1000 Comm [8-Pin Port] and
2nd Port, 9-Pin D-Shell For PC.

Then DH485 To 2nd NET-AIC+ DH-485 Phoenix Connector Port
And Use 9-Pin D-Shell Port For CTC/HMI Comm

Since The NET-AIC+ Supports Nodes On The 2-Ports and
Non Node Support Under The DH-485 Phoenix Connector Side.

The CTC/HMI Does Not Require A Node Address, It Only Looks
For The PLC Node Address.
The CTC/HMI Software Requires a HMI Station ID,
And Will Not Show Up Under RSlinx, Due To The
HMI MachineShop Shell Software Installed In HMI.

Due To The HMI MachineShop Shell Installed, That's
Why No Comm Converters Are Required For Com-2,
RS232, RS422, RS485.

If This Would Work, I Can Purchase NET-AIC+'s Cheaper
Than A MicroLogic-1200 w/HMI Support [Used],
I Do Like The 1200, Simpler & Flash Upgradable.

Ya Just Gotta Luv This Stuff, Best Way To Spend Time.
I Think When My Dad Told Me
School Is For Learning and Education Is For Life
He Must Have Knowen About PLC's
Thank's Again Ken
