Hi, I have a couple of AB PV600 grey scale displays mounted outdoors in a NEMA 4 enclosure. They work great but unfortunately are almost unreadable in bright sunlight.
Does anyone have a better solution, preferably ethernet.
Thanks in advance
Roy

Beijer makes a sunlight readable version of their Exter panels:

I have used the standard Exter panels outdoors with success. In these installations they have generally been under a small awning so there is a little shade over the unit.

Something to watch out for with almost all HMI's when outdoors is low temperatures. Below freezing is generally not possible without heating the enclosure.

<disclaimer: I work for a Beijer distribtor>

Redlion G3 series do an outdoor unit, i have never used it so dont know if its readable in heavy sunlight!

Thanks a lot guys, I will check them both out.
BTW does their software have a way of browsing for RSLogix 5000 tags
Are they classified for Class 1 Div 2 location

Redlion G3 Series

The Indoor Units are UL Listed, but it looks like the Outdoor Units are not?!

You can import your tags as a csv file to the g3 series but i dont think you can browse tags (unless they have added it lately!)

It also looks like the only outdoor unit is the 6" version.

I'm sure someone from RL will correct any of my mistakes here :)

The G310 is an outdoor unit and is suitabler for Class 1 Div 2 areas. UL listed. UV film also available.
I have these inside the cabins on the Sydney Harbour Bridge Cranes and they are very visible. Sun comes straight in the window.
I also have one in a stand to control a wave machine but it is stil not finished. The stand will be out in the open and the G310 should be good.

Thanks 504bloke for the reference material.
So I guess that the tags in RSLogix must somehow cross reference to the real memory address.
Thanks BobB for the testimonial.

And as a bonus, the software (Crimson2 - here) is free as are the firmware updates, and redlions tech support is second to none!
