We have a working system using PLC5 hardware. The processors are 5/80C (redundant). In addition to regular AI, AO, DI and DO modules we also have a Prosoft Modbus Master/Slave module and two pulse input modules. All these are PLC5 hardwares. Now the project is to replace redundant PLC5 processors with Control Logix processors. Can CLX processors work with PLC 5 pulse module and Prosoft Modbus module? Can any body forward a sample code.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, the ControlLogix can perform ControlNet "block transfer" instructions that are equivalent to the CIO instruction in the PLC-5C15 ControlNet controllers.

This will allow the ControlLogix to work with the Prosoft Modbus module as well as the pulse input modules.

What benefits do you anticipate getting from converting a relatively modern PLC-5C15 redundant system to ControlLogix ?

Thanks for the reply.
We are going for a major expansion of the system, in near future we will be adding significant amount of new I/O to the system, all of the new additions are CLX hardware. By the way do you have any sample code with CLX processor & PLC5 Pulse and/or MCM module?
