I have a 4000 ohm pot and i need to make it a 0 to 10 volt signal, i know i could do it with a resistor and zener diode.
Is there a more robust way to do this? is there a conditioning module i can buy.

In a case like this i would use a 0-10vdc Analog output scaled to Max value feed the potentiometer. Then the wiper from the pot is the 0-10v DC input.

Thanks

thanks using the 0 to 10 volt output is a great idea.🍻
i happen to have a if2of2 card on the rack.

Thanks again

I don't know what could be more "robust" than a simple potential divider circuit, using a resistor in series with the potentiometer to 0V.

You haven't said what your source voltage will be, I will assume 24V.

Your Pot is 4,000 ohm, and is required to drop 10V, so the series resistor to the 24V supply will need to be :-

(24 * (4000/10)) - 4000 = 5600 ohms

Power rating for the 5600 series resistor is :-

((24-10)^2 / 5600 = 0.035 W

Power rating of the pot is :-

((10-0)^2 / 4000 = 0.025 W
