connecting to slc 5/04

are there any ways other than using a pcm card and a com cable
to connect to a slc 5/04 processor
i have a desktop and a laptop but do not have the money to buy
the allen bradley pcm card with cable
help please

Do you know how the RS232 port is configured(DF1 or DH485) as you should be able to use that with a nul modem RS232 cable between it and the con port on you pc.
