Cable difference
Please explain for me the difference between:

- Allen Bradley 1785-KE PLC-5 DH+ Comm Module
- 1747 PIC Cable

As I understand both of them use to connect PLC with COMP.

Good luck!

One is to make a network connectin between many devices like other PLC
The other is a converter to make a connection between your PC RS232 port and a PLC

The 1785-KE module connects an RS-232 device like a PC to Allen-Bradley's Data Highway Plus (DH+) network, which is used by PLC-2, PLC-3, PLC-5, and SLC-5/04 controllers. The module is mounted in a PLC-5 chassis.

The 1747-PIC module is a standalone RS-232 to RS-485 signal converter, about the size of a paperback book. Unlike the 1785-KE, it does not convert one protocol to another, merely one electrical signalling level to another. The computer on the RS-232 side must run Allen-Bradley's Data Highway 485 (DH-485) protocol.

Both are fairly old products, though they are still actively sold, and there are faster and cheaper ways to connect to modern A-B controllers.
