The PID equations for ControlWave

Hi All,

Does somebody know the PID equations for Control Wave (Bristol Babcock PLC)..?

I have project to make auto tuning for PID within control Wave, have been somebody tried to do this..? I haven't ideas to do this..?

You are lost already if you don't documentation for the PLC. I expect people asking for help on their PLC to post links to the documentation on-line so I don't have to waste my time looking up the data. Without documentation we can only guess.

Yes, but I wouldn't do it is a PLC because it takes much math and memory to do the system identification. Does your instructor even know what system identification is and what algorithms are used to do this? What kind of system do you want to tune? Each one is different. Each different type of system requires a different set of formulas. Normally people chose the FOPDT for temperature control. See this website www.controlguru.com and look at the heat exchanger example. Finding the gain, time constant and dead time using ladder PLC is quite a task. Some PLCs do have a simple auto tuning built in but they are crude and clueless.
