Problem with S7414 using S5 I/O

I've got a problem with an S7 414-3 PN/DP talking to S5 I/O in a 185U rack via a IM 463-2 and IM314.

Basically the problem is that the S7 IM is happy with the S5 rack (it can see it and when I change parameters on the IM314 you get the errors on the S7 etc.) but it doesn't see any changes in the S5 inputs and won't put on any of the outputs.

I have tried two different IM 314 cards and two different cables, different I/O cards, different addresses and I'm now starting to run out of ideas.

We've proved the S5 rack with an S5 processor. So it's got to be either a failed IM 463 or something in the S7 config that's wrong (or I've been really unlucky with 2 IM 314 cards or 2 cables).

We're currently using a very simple S7 project, just the processor and IM card in the HW with one range of addresses and one input card in the S5 rack.

Has anyone got any suggestions?
