1784-pcmk and Vista

Hi, my laptop broke and our IT manager supplied me with a different laptop that is loaded with Windows Vista Home Premium. The Gateway laptop has an express card slot and I currently have a StarTech Cardbus to Express card Adapter. I normally connected to the DH+ network with the 1784-PCMK card. I have installed the adapter with the PCMK card and I am not having any luck getting the computer to recognize the card. Will the PCMK card work with Vista or what other options do I have?
