Hello,

I am trying to upload a application from a Panelview 1000(#2711-K10G8).
I have a RS232 cable#1747-CP3,SER.A. plugged into my laptop and the other end plugged into the terminal rs232 port .
I have tried uploading directly from Panelbuilder 32(results in Error2018), WinPFT(results inError 2018) and Rslinx with no success.
I can use the 1747-cp3 cable to upload and download to the slc5/04.
So I know my cable is OK.
Does anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks

For future reference, please note that even if your Panelview WAS an RS232 version, the CP3 cable will not work. You need something like an AB 2706-NC13 or 2711-NC13 cable.

Thanks for the replies.
Is it possible to use my 1747 -CP3 cable thru the slc5/04 and upload
the panelview application.
My intent is to upload application change password and download.

Yes, see PDF's below for passthru info.

But with a null-modem adapter on the end of your 1747-CP3 cable
making it a straight thru cable will work also. Or go to Radio Shack/Best Buy and get a straight thru cable. Or a memory card for your PV program.
