plc migration plan

hey guys,

we are planning to change our slc series and plc-5 series plcs and are gonne be replaced by compactlogix and control logix? what are the prerequisites to undergo this replacement process. like whether the whole panel needs to be changed ,the programming platform compatibility etc...?
