Hello;

I need help downloading a program to a Siemens CPU 313C. The program was uploaded from a 314IFM. I modified the HW Configuration by deleteing the CPU 314IFM and selecting a 313C.

I rarely work with Siemens PLCs so I could be missing something quite simple.

Here is a copy of the "Compile and Download Objects" log.

Compile:
RollStand 5-6\S7-300_Abroller\Hardware

The block/op. sys. update is too large.
Cannot load SDB 4.
The system data cannot be loaded to module CPU 313C - (R0/S2) of station S7-300_Abroller.
Look under details or try to determine the cause for the problem using the diagnostic buffer of the module.

Thank you for your time and help.

Create a library (using File>New then click on the Library Tab, then enter a name for the libray) in Simatic manager. Insert an S7 program into the library. Copy the blocks (OB,FB,FC,DB) from your 314 project blocks folder to the library blocks folder. Archive the library and post the zip file on here.

Also post the Siemens part numbers of the 314 and 313 CPUs

Thank you for helping. Usually I try to compose my question in a way that suggests I've tried to solve my problem before asking for help. I'll confess I did not do that this time. Step7 is so confusing to me. I tried to do what I needed, when I couldn't, I just cried out for help. I am one of four electricians at a box factory. We are it for electrical expertise. My last job had twelve electricians with an electrical supervisor for each shift. The job before that, I was one of seventy. I'm glad to still have a job, but it is a lot harder with no one to talk to.

I've attached the zip file (I hope). The existing PLC is "314-5AE03-0AB0"; the replacement is "313-5BF03-0AB0".

Thanks again for your time and help;
Frank

Great job on posting the library. I took a look and didn't see anything obvious, so time for me to learn from the master. You are in great hands with L D[AR2,P#0.0].

Story so far....

I've created a 314IFM project and copied your blocks to the block folder and downloaded and run the program using PLCSIM (the Siemens plc simulator) - no problems to report.

Using the h/w config editor I attempted to replace the 314 CPU with a 313C CPU. See the following screen shot - as you can see the 313C cannot be used as a direct replacement for the 314IFM

If you delete the 314IFM and then insert a 313C the functionality differences between the two CPUs needs to be analysed.

... the h/w config for the 314IFM project is required to progress further.

You can export the h/w config (Station>Export) - please export in Readable form and in compact form as shown in the two examples (but please uncheck the Export symbols box). Copy the two cfg files into a zip file and post.
