control valve feedback on plc

have one controlvalve (fail close) use on steam line for flare area configured & operate in vendor plc when force from plc to open it's open after open when i test poer fail(remove power cable) it physicaly going close but in plc still showing 100% open plc side status not going change ...so my quastion is do plc side also shoiuld some indication come like BAD MODE....COMMUNICATION FAIL...or something that indicate valve condition power fail or failure mode...cause maintainance guy how khow valve now close cause power fail ..m doing loop check...

How does the PLC control the valve ?

Analog output to valve positioner? to I/P (current to pneumatic transducer)?

Digital communications to valve positioner?

Does the valve positioner provide position feedback?
- via analog 4-20mA ?
- via digital comm?

Thanks for interest, valve have digital 6010 series emerson positioner no feed back connected limit switch nothing ...just two wire from plc ...it's control valve but they using like on/off valve..my interest is if valve is in open condition & suppose power fail ( iop) so valve going its fail safe condition close shut off...so that same time what will be effect u can showing in plc ( i mean plc have also status 100% open logical 1) but actually in field it closed ( logical 0) so do there plc will change status in ladder logic from 1 to 0.....or is there green healthy line become red like now it's not helathy ...my interest is to khow what effect will on plc side if valve fail it's communication (power fail,,,,calbe some open...or sort somewhere)...

Examine your power line that feeds CV and handle it in PLC code when power is down.
