Can someone explain what a Wiegand output is? Apparently, there is one on a thumbprint recognition module I'm looking at, but I dont know what it is, and neither does my boss. I tried yahoo, no luck, just links to things with Wiegand outputs. Thanks.

No, he is quite correct. Apparently the Wiegand interface is pretty popular although a bit slippery to find any info on. The best I could come up with is this: http://www.ibtechnology.co.uk/Wiegand2.PDF
