Panelview 1000 Connection?

How do i connect to a PV 1000?
The product code is 2711-K10C16.

From the AB website this tells me it has 1 Rs232 (DF1) for comms to PLC (which my one has), and a spare RS232 (DF1) for printer/Download port.

I need to back up the file in the PV1000 to my laptop.

Its connected to a PLC5/30 via DF1.

You'll need the Panelbuilder32 software, it comes w/ a tool called WinPFT, setup your RsLinx so it sees the PV and use WinPFT to grab the program off it.

How do i connect to a PV 1000?

I believe that to communicate to the Panelview you need a straight cable rather than a null modem crossover cable.

The software needed is Panel builder 32

In RSLinx you use a RS232 DF1 driver but I can't remember which device to choose

Oh. I dont have PanelBuilder32, its not on our ICA spec laptop build. Hope this HMI doesnt **** up then!
