Learning curves in hand. I am a Pyrotechnician here in Canada doing fireworks, pyrotechnics, SPFX for film. Just purchased a GE PLC yesterday and a going to give it a try, with not much prior on PLC.

I have many good firing systems but I think this PLC stuff is a new way of going about it, on this end of the continent. Its been overlooked for ignition of pyrotechnics and used for other devices in film for SPFX and props.

Currently some of my systems have 16 toggles using 25 pin connectors using the extra pins for grounds going to connection boxes for the igniters. They require 9 to 12 volts at 1 to 2 amps and an LED across the switch for continuity of the electric match. I have a 12 position switch to switch grounds (giving me 192 events) and use the same toggles to fire the next sequential even or step fire one at a time. I am also experimenting with CAT5 for multiple line shots.

I am trying to put the idea together USING PLC dose this seems plausible?

Thank you,
