Have anyone done an data exchange between a Micrologix 1000 and a S7-3xx ?

I guess hardware-wise is possible to use a DF1-to-Ethernet to put the Micrologix in the ethernet... and how's the software-wise, is it possible ?

Are you using Profibus DP for I/O ? The HMS Communicator interface can poll a DF1 device (which the MicroLogix 1000 supports).

There's a Profinet version too, though I'm not totally sure that both support DF1.

Modbus RTU is the most common protocol for multivendor integration, but remember that the MicroLogix 1000 doesn't support it. All the other MicroLogix controller models (1100, 1200, 1400, 1500) do.

Hi Guys,

All Anybus Communicators supports both DF1 and Modbus RTU master functionallity. The gateway can also be set up to other protocols, such as Comli or ASCII.
If the Micro Logix PLC allready is set up as Modbus RTU master, HMS has other gateways that can solve it, Modbus RTU slave - to - Profibus slave.

If you have any questions about the gateway, let me know.

Ok,
After reading Kens reply more properly, I understand that ML1000 does not support Modbus RTU... So if using the Anybus Communicator, DF1 is the way to go.

Still, let me know if you have any questions..

Thanks guys !

Yes, it is Profibus... so I think it will be fine. I use DF1 to Profibus (using the Comunicator from HMS), and then I access the data from the S7 CPU... It will take a while until I get this part... but I'll try to post the results !!

Thanks again !

Hello RTK;
I am sure that the Profibus-DP option will work well.
Another option you could look at is the serial driver for DF1 that can be installed on a CP 341 or a CP 441-2 (serial processors for S7 PLCs).
