Panelview 300 standard with a ml1400

Right now I have my ml1400 communicating via ethrnet to my laptop using a LAN and a panelview 300 standard hooked into the ml1400 via DFI full duplex (485). On my program in rslogix 500 I can see all communication via channel status. I am online in run mode with the ml1400, but my panelview has a Panelview Offline error on it and I can not get it to clear out. Is there any reason these two can not communicate at all or am I missing something in my panelbuilder program. I can see the two communicating via channel status though.......
