Newbie needs help with Zelio

I am using a Zelio SR2A101FU controller and Zelio Soft 2 programming software that is version 4.3. I am connected via USB to my laptop which is running Windows XP. I have written a simple program that turns a light bulb on. When I run the program on my laptop in Simulation Mode, it works as I expect and the gate closes and stays closed. When I download the program to the controller and try to run it in Monitoring Mode from my laptop, it does not work the same. The gate closes but immediately opens again. It does not stay closed as it does in the Simulation Mode. I have tested the controller using a piece of wire and it also turns the light on and it stays on. So, why can I not run the program in the controller from the laptop? Hopefully I have explained this well enough. I am a newbie with this. Thanks in advance for your help.
