O.T 11"X17" Multifunction printer

I started on what I thought should be an easy search for a new multifunction printer for our Engineering office, it hasn't been as easy as I thought.

I am looking for a colour laser printer/copier/scanner/fax, that will handle 11X17" paper. I don't really care about paper capacity or print speeds just needs to be able to do 11"X17".

The cheapest I can find is a lexmark at about $4K, the cheapest HP is about $9K! There has to be something cheaper on the market that can meet these requirements? It won't be a heavily used printer, maybe 1000 sheets per month.

Any suggestions or recomendations.

With the requirement for 11x17 you may be better off separating the printer from the rest of the all-in-one. This, of course, means you can't scan the 11x17 but If it is a drawing you are creating anyway, you could most likely get by printing to a pdf file and e-mailing.

It seems once the laser head gets above the 8.5" range they do get awful pricey.

Look for an HP 620c if my memory is correct $1100.

I think those are both ink jet. The OP asked about laser.
