I have a customer need for what he is calling a proxmity
switch protection box.

He has described it as a box that the proximity switch (30mm)
sticks out from, and also has a 3/4" conduit fitting on the
other end.

Now, this proximity switch is in an outdoor, dust and heat
situation, but I think his real intent is to have a nice place
for the wires to be connected to the wires coming thru the
conduit.

Does anyone know a source for something like this, or am I
gonna have to build these (I need 10).

Thanks, in advance.

I would tend to use a sensor with cable attached to it. They can be bought from any supplier.
When dust is a problem be sure to use explosion proof material and plc.
If very hot please be sure the sensor can work on these high temps.
for connection box i use aluminium boxes with glands only on bottom.
when no room i use a piece of shrinktube filled with some glue, available from 3M. works very fine and everywhere.
i am in coldstores so my problem is water, and ice.

I don't know the size of the proximity switch you are talking about but I worked for a brick company, where dust, heat and possibilty of falling brick were some of the issues to deal with. I have used outdoor receptacle boxes (Dual gang if need be).

Thanks to all...

but,
1.) The end user will not accept Armor Guard proxes.
2.) A conduit adapter does not allow for adjustment.

so...
I've decided to use an Allen Bradley 871 accessory that
allows for 'quick adjustment', and will mount in a little
NEMA 4 box (traditional wall boxes are not NEMA rated, for
some reason), and then mount a 3/4" hub in the box, as
a do-it-yourself type deal.

Thanks for the input.
