slc 5/03 os300 connection to PV600 std.

I am using the cp3 cable to connect the df1 ports of the slc503 and pv600 std.

As stated above (by Sergei )you need a straight thru cable. The 1747-CP3 is a null-modem cable. If the PV supports DF1 protocol.

But again also as asked above what is the complete catalog number of your PV?

Just because the PV has a RS232 port does not mean that port is available( capable) to talk to your PLC.

PV600 standard/classic: 2711-T6C16 FRN 4.10-4.xx connected to slc5/03-L532 16K memory OS300 Thru RS-232 DF1 ports on both i.e. PV600 and SLC 5/03.

Cable used 2711-NC13 9pin DB

Port settings: 19200, no parity, 1 stop bit, CRC, no handshaking. PV600 node 2, SLC 5/03 channel 0: node 9 decimal (tried node 1, node 2 before).

I can connect my laptop COM1 with 1747-CP3 to slc 5/03 thru RSlinx DF1 no problem and to PV600 RS232DF1 port with panel builder thru rslinx df1 direct no problem.

I CAN'T get them talking to each other

Can you post both the SLC and the PV's programs here? Zip them first then post.

I have to ask, which port on the PV are you connecting to the SLC?

The 1747-CP3 is appropriate for Communicating with the SLC5/03, but you should be using the 2711-NC13 to Communicate between your Laptop and the PanelView. Correct?

As requested by Mickey, it would be helpful if you could post the SLC PLC Program, and the Panelview Project.

In your SLC5/03 change the control line to "No Handshaking" and to "Auto Detect"

See picture below

In your PV change the node type to SLC5/03.

See picture below.

Let us know if this helps.

slc 5/03 os300 connection to PV600 std touch

I will try this on Monday when I am back to the plant (God willing) and let you know. Thanks.
I did change on the PV to slc 5/03 before but it did not help. I don't remember doing the no handshake and autodetect on the 503 though.
The funny thing is that there is a working PV600 std and a slc 5/03 with the settings that are on the files that I sent you and they are working fine. The only difference is that the slc 5/03 that is working fine is an OS 302 versus the OS 300 that does not work.
