How to use Step 5 v3.2?

my boss got a computer and a connection line(till now i don't know the type),so there the plc and the computer can communicate now. but in the computer the soft ware is step 5 v3.2, and there is no user mannual in it. so i do not know how to use the software. is there anybody know where i can got the user mannual about that one?
i need English verson only, since i don't know another language.

Go to the Siemens support web site Click Here and in the search field type in 9830806. This is the manual for Step 5 software, I don't think it is version specific.

i need help now!!!

the user manual in the website on siemens is not very clearly.
i need the manual such as the shortcut key about how to use the step 5 Ver 3.2?(that is a dos version)
such as how to download files from plc ...etc.

Hi LiHao,

If you want to receive a program from the PLC, then you need to "upload" it to your PC.

If you want to send a program to the PLC, then you need to "download" it to the PLC.

You're most probably connected to the PLC using the MPI port, you can double check that. See if there's a cable connected to the PC's COM Port and connected to the PLC MPI port.

Launch the SIMATIC Manager, Create a new project either using the wizard or manually. In the main menu, click on PLC, and then Upload Station.

Remember that you need the numerick keyboard, the right kyb that you get home int the same key that 7, 0 whit ins, etc.

Your "enter" is the "0 - ins" key

Your moves are whit the arroys ( 4 , 6 , 8 , 2).

I hope this woulb be enought For the 1st. class.

I have the manual for Step5 3.x. The problem is that it is on paper only and the language is finnish!!!.

The other thing is that I have the manual and the PG at home and I'm currently on a fieldtrip 500kms away from home.

If you can wait until next weekend then I can try to help you more.

I just had a memory flashback and remembered that when uploading the blocks from CPU you need some parameters.

If you have been able to find the uploading page then you need these parameters

Source for upload from: AG
Upload all blocks is : B
Target for upload: FD

Thats all I could remember now
