I want to take a SLC 5/03 that is already connected to a Display (using RJ485 port) and 2nd port is connected to a modem. I want to add a 1747-dps1 or 2. The added port would give me an open port for trending and historical data saving. So, does the added port(s) of the 1747-dps? give me the same options as the RS232 - DF1 port of the 5/03? Is the speed the same? Any other drawbacks from this?

Thanks
George
