hey all,

so we currently have a water/cement filtration system. Made by ALAR. this seperates the water from the cement sends it to a tank. we are having two problems that maybe you all may have ideas on helping with...

problem 1. to lower the pH of the water we inject C02 into the water, this now creates calcium carbonate that creates a big mess and clogs alot of pipes and nozzels.

2. all our water we filter out gets dumped down the drain.....how can we purify this water so we can resue it in future cement batches.....one reason we cant is the carbonate, second reason is we also inject defoamer into the alar system cause we produce cellular concrete and when the foam goes through the vacuum pump it causes A LOT of problems. haveing defoamer in the water could seriously effect our batches since we need the foam to be strong so we need to filter out the defoamer chemicals as well ....

any ideas

You can't filter ot dissolved solids. This system sounds like it will require physical/chemical treatment. You could add chemicals to precipitate out the dissolved solids in a settling tank. Biological treatment may be required for the de-foamer depending on it's makeup and constituents.

I'm not a specialist in this type of process, but there are firms in the New Jersey area that either can set you up or give you better contact info for experts.
