Could use some help on setting a trend on a PV+1000. Is there a way to start and stop the trending based on a SLC500 Tag?

I want to trend some pressures on a compressor but when it trips I want to stop the trend so I can see what my pressures did prior to the trip.

I'm not sure if that is possible.

One option you have got is to look at the historic alarm log (if you have one), look at when the compressor tripped and then go back to your trend to match up the time stamp from the alarm and the time axis from your trend.

In reading the manual it looks like I need some sort of memroy card or a dedicated computor to do the historical trending. is that an accurate statement?

Historical trending on PVP could be realized using the Datalog.
It can be saved locally inside the internal Flash memory or External Card, or remotely to a network PC.
