barcode scanner for slc 5/03 or 5/04

Im looking to buy a barcode scanner to communicate to a slc 5/03 or 5/04, threw serial port. Looking for a low price one i want to buy one on ebay but not sure if they will be compatible. Anybody know of any brands? Or are all scanners with RS232 serial D sub compatible?
