Cimplicity

WE use GE 90-70 PLCs. We also use Proficy machine edition plc programming software and cimplicity hmi over a microwave network to control 4 PLCs. The connection is often slow and sometimes unreliable. Scripting and trending is also used over the network. Is there a source other than GE for learning more about cimplicity's hmi features? I have watched videos on PLC mentor.com Thanks.

Why do you want a third party trainer? GEIP has some excellent training on the Cimplicity HMI product. Also it may be a good idea to look at the network to verify that some of the sluggishness is not due to the network. Also what protocols are being used through the network, some protocols will need internal timers adjusted to work properly through radio/wireless equipment due to delays in the equipment.

Cost and ability to get to a class is an issue. I was hoping to get something online that would be priced low enough I could afford it myself. Something to get me through the basics. I appreciate your response. Thanks again.

There is online training available in the link above. Also go to the support web site support.ge-ip.com and do some reading. Install it on another PC and "play" with it, it will run for 2 hours at a time without a license.
