I've used a lighter duty unit like this in place of a line jog pendant. Seemed a lot easier than string 100 foot of wire cable and multiconductor wire. the buttons on the wireless pendant control relays in the reciever unit. The range of the unit in the link is 500 ft.

Be aware, that batteryless ones transmit only their transitions, but do not transmit pressed status continuously.
