Morning everyone,

I've been asked to provide designs for Point I/O Panels. I've never use these before and I was looking to get some confirmation in terms of how the cards have been laid out and power consumption. I understand that I cannot exceed the POINTBUS current based on the comms/power module I select. Here are the two designs:

1. Design #1 (Typical of 5 panels)
1734-AENT: Ethernet Module (700mA = Pointbus Current)
1734-IB8: 24VDC sinking 8-point input card (75mA)
1734-IB8: 24VDC sinking 8-point input card (75mA)
1734-IB8: 24VDC sinking 8-point input card (75mA)
1734-OB4: 4-point sourcing output card (75mA)
1734-EP24VDC: Extender Module
1734-IE4C: 4-point Analog input card (75mA?)

I needed to add the power extender module as they were looking to add in the future. I am not sure if I could have just got away with putting all of the cards without the extender? It seems that I can since the total of the cards does not exceed the 700mA of the Ethernet module.

2. Design #2 (Typical of 1 panel)
1734-AENT: Ethernet Module (700mA = Pointbus Current)
1734-IB8: 24VDC sinking 8-point input card (75mA)
1734-OB4: 4-point sourcing output card (75mA)
1734-EP24VDC: Extender Module
1734-IE4C: 4-point Analog input card (75mA?)

This design is much smaller (less I/O).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
