Rockwell refers to their DSI or DPI devices but I can't find in any literature what this acronym stands for. My first hunch was Digital Serial Interface and Digital Parallel Interface, but that seemed too generic, and DPI / DSI always has a TM (trademark) symbol next to it, which seems to indicate it is a proprietary protocol.
