Download these manuals from www.3s-software.com.

Print, read carefully, program, test.

- User manual for Codesys V2.3
- First steps with Codesys V2.3
- User manual CoDeSys Visualization V2.3

Ad tutorials (videos): There are some on Youtube.
You can try 'Twincat' as well, it is a CoDeSys derivate.

Thanks for the suggestions, I am not familiar with C Programming concepts, all I have I have ever done is ladder programming. I can understand the function chart but not the string commands in the editor. It all seems like a very complex way to write simple cod.

you can download the program complete from 3s-software.com.
and yes you can work in ladder, no need to learn C.
when needing strings look at oscat.de english subroutines for anything
