Which PC?

Hi all. My old laptop just died. Now i have to figure out what OS to use. I have had trouble with RSLogix 500 and RSLinx running on Windows 7 (on my tower PC). Would I be better off trying to find a laptop with the XP OS? How much Ram? 4Gig?
I am trying to do this once, so i came to ask the experts.

Newest versions of RSLogix500, RSlinx and RSLogix5000 runs ok on win 7. Maybe you have to upgrade your rockwell software to the latest versions.

widelto, I have upgraded my software in my tech connect contract. Have had some problems running RSLogix, RS linx, Panel View Component, etc.

I have rslogix500 V8.30.01, RSlogix5000 V19.01 an RSlinx V2.57.00.14 running under win7 with no problems. Tell us about you problems.
