Hi All Siemens Experts

I am working on S300 CPU C313c 2DP.
Our customer need a numeric display which should take strings from
CPU.
When I asked Display manufacturer whether it can connect on profibus?
He says it supports RS485 and given me a protocol file.
I dont know how it should be connected to the CPU?

My question .. how can protocol file should be used to make logic to send data on display.

I am attaching protocol file.

It is a serial RS485, not Profibus.
You can add a serial port with ASCII support to the 313C-2DP in two ways:
1. Add a CP340 to the S7-300 rack.
2. Add a 1SI module to an ET200S rack connected to the 313C-2DP via DP. The latter is the least expensive.

The protocol file simply shows you that you pack together a series of CHARs according to the rules described in the document.
This table is useful:

To avoid future misunderstandings:

RS 485 and Profibus are not the same.

RS 485 is how you connect it.

Profibus is what you're sending through it.
