Hello,

My problem is i need to change a siemens S5 rig to a S7 1214c
The only problem i have is 2 things:

1) On the S5-95u there is a 8x analog input. How can i fix this? Cut the cable and use a analog module on the 1214c, thats the 8xRTDx16 bit (SM 1231RTD)?

2)This rig uses a high speed counter module for a position encoder. That uses a 15 pin connector. What do i need for the 1214c to get this signal?

A picture of the modules:

Hope you can help me

Thank you

The S5-95U had 8 channels of 0-10V inputs: you do NOT want an RTD module for the S7-1200, you want the 8 CH AI 8 card: 6ES7 231-4HF30-0XB0.

For the high speed encoder you can use the inputs on the 1214C CPU. Check voltages and encoder frequencies to make sure all is compatible. You'll need to fabricate the wiring connections to change from that 15 pin DSub. Pay attention to your grounding and shielding if the encoder wires are running any distance...
