I just got to RS TechED in orlando. Anyone else from the forum planning on attending?

It is pretty nice. They said it was supposed to rain all day but only a lite shower around 7:00 PM. Me and my girl went to universal today and it was terrible hot even for Orlando.

Was at Universal last month to take our youngest to see the Harry Potter Wizarding World. Even then it was hot. I think the pump in hot air over the crowds to force you to the refreshment stands.

It only feels hot, because of the humidity. And the temperature.
The three best things about RSTechEd at Orlando:
1. Taking an extra day or two to take your family to Disney or Universal. I spent a week's per-diem in an afternoon at Margaritaville and regret nothing.
2. Wednesday afternoon off, rent a Road King or a Fat Boy from Kissimmee H-D and ride down the Space Coast to Canaveral and back.
3. Getting your distributor to buy you lots and lots of iced drinks.
It's one of the things I miss the most about working for RA !
Oh, and I'm sure you'll learn a lot about FactoryTalk too. Don't take a lot of notes (you'll get the PPT slides later) but consider how get the most out of your Q&A time.

Stopped going to TechEd , as the goal was to learn but always ended up late nights of drinking and debauchery. And learned little.
Now I go to Automation Fair for the drinking and debauchery and usually learn something.

I was planning on going this year but it just didn't fit into the schedule. My distributor is down there with some other customers and I wish I was there with them. Oh well, I always have time for Automation Fair. Just always seem to be too busy in June for some reason.

We rode that yesterday and the line was 1 hr 40 minutes in the sun and very little shade. The good part was about half way through the line there were several hot girls with a beer cart. They were selling out faster than the stck guys could bring more.

Got to play with the new panelview 5000 units today they are pretty nice. They have buttons that can be used for jogs and stuff vs having a hardwired button and they set the output state as soon as comms are lost.
The new datalogging in the controller is cool for V22
In V21 they are having rung and instruction comments stored in the controller. It's about time but it iss V21 and up which is L7 seriers and up so never for the L6 series.
Time to switch to all L7 processors for me.

The news said within the first hour of the storm they logged 22,000 lightning strikes! You don't see that in Portland

How is the ED fest dinner? Is it pretty good or more on par with the lunch they serve?

When I went 3 years ago I did enjoy ED fest but I honestly can't remember the actual meal. There was some entertainment during the meal. It was a few people whirling around from curtains doing various acrobatics, pretty neat. Then there was the casino which was a ton of fun. But the dinner...sorry but I just don't remember.
