Can anybody hep me out on how to send ascii commands like "MR 5000" to a MDive23 Stepper Motor using ML1000 or ML1400. It communicates with either RS232 or RS485. I can program it with a PC with no problem, but I need to use a PLC.

MDRIVE23 by IMS Motion Control.

Appreciate your feedback.
Thanks

Sorry I am not infront of a computer with 500 on it. Look under the string tab in the instruction area. AWA may be what you want I can't remember off the top of my head. There are 2 different transmit commands one just sends the string only and the other adds the characters that are assigned in the user mode for the serial port.

Do you have the 1763 Breakout board for the serial port? If not it is going to be hard to get the 485. You can get the 232 from the standard PM02 cable.
