DF1 Allen Bradley half-duplex slave and master

I have read the Scada Works book and I was wondering if anyone has any kind of sample programming for this type of setup. Allen Bradley Master=slc 5/04 Slave= slc 5/04: Half-duplex standard polling mode. I have inherited the existing programs that are running in msg based polling,but I would like to able to monitor the field scada locally to see if they are communicating. I want to expeiment with new programs using Stand. does anyone have any recommendations.
