I've got a .prj file that was created for a GP370 QuickPanel jr in QuickDesigner 3.1. I can't import it into Proficy Machine Edition because it wasn't created with 3.2 or better.

Can someone please open it in a newer version of QuickDesigner, save it, and send it back so that I can import it?

Thanks!!!!!

Is this even possible?

The only thing I thought was common between these products was the name!

This is in QD 3.70 and will Import into Proficy ME. And a PME 7.0 backup.
Added the PME backup.

Fantastic, Russ!!!! Thanks much - you have saved the day. This imported straight into ME...saving me countless hours of work and uncertainty in guessing what the original screens looked like (the display is damaged).

Thank you!!

Are you converting them to a QuockPanel View? If yes you can "Convert" it and download. You will need to remove the two screen "Contrast" buttons and add an Ethernet Address for the Target. The rest converted to an IC754VSI06CTD without intervention.

I'm not - I'm replacing it with an AB PanelView Plus 600. We're an AB shop...it's tied to an old vendor-supplied solution that is being refreshed.

reopen : Help upconverting .PRJ to QuickDesigner

HI friends
Actually my question is related to this post so i am posting my question here.
I convert my project from quick designer to proficy machine edition.
My question is what about all input, output and register addresses
Its showing ibi0001,rbi0001 etc…
Do I need to change all to %R00001, %i00001.. ??
if I download from proficy machine edition, is it able to communicate with same old addressing after converting it?
right now with old quick designer display project its communicating with ge genius plc

thanks in advance

If you have let Proficy ME convert it for you, all the variables will be mapped properly.
If possible I would look into removing it from Genius and put it on Ethernet though.
If the "ibi0001,rbi0001 etc." are in PME from the conversion, they likely names not addresses.

Sorry but...
The .prj file in this zip is not a QuickDesigner file. It errors when attempting to Import into QD 3.70 and opening the file in a Hex Editor does not look anything like a .prj file that does import.

thanks russb

Ok thankyou very much. I need to open this file and i don't know in which software it was made. The screen has broken and I have to repair it and it would save me a lit of time.

Regards and thanks again

Can you zip and post a picture of the broken screen? Maybe someone can help identify it for you.

I, like RussB, couldn't open it. I tried opening it with all the different software programs that I have that uses the .prj file extension. I could not open it. Using the HexEditor, I saw some text that suggests it is Italian, but I can't be sure of that.
