Ethernet PV600 touch only IP address

Anyone got an easy way to find the IP address, bought off of ebay and it appears the config screen is passworded. Since it has a write error to 193.168.200.1 I figured the address had to be close to the plc address. But using lookatlan and scanning 192.168.200.0 to 192.168.200.255 comes up empty. I am going to try 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255 next but takes awhile.

Wireshark should show its transmissions which should include its IP.

Yup, just start Wireshark and plug in the PanelView to your local switch.

Set the Wireshark filter to "arp" and you'll know the IP in just a few seconds. The Source field will even be labeled "Rockwell_xx:yy:zz" because PanelView terminals (like most A-B products) have a Rockwell Automation -specific organizational identifier as the first part of the MAC address.

Also, most touchscreen PanelView Standards show a white square in the lower left corner on bootup... touch it and it should go to the Configuration screen.

Try connecting to the RS232 port and upload the program. Then view the communication setup.
You will need a straight thru cable and the DF1 driver in Rslinx for this.

Thanks for the input, I will try these tomorrow. Next time I will make sure they supply me the address and save the trouble

Mickey what fun it uploading the file? I usually learn a lot more doing things the hard way.

I would use AngryIP scanner and try that first.
