Siemens S7 400 Chassis

For Siemens S7 400 chassis.
Are there any rules for allocating slots for I/O modules.
I have a customer who wants to leave a vacant slot in the middle of a set of 6 analogue input modules. I thought there might be some issue with continuity of interupt lines but am not sure.

Not sure about 400 but for the 300's they have "Dummy Modules" for that particular reason.
