I was wondering if anyone has ever seen a keygen for GE machine edition v 4.0? I hate having to call and ask for something that I have already purchased.

Buy Software

If you have already purchased the software then ring the customer support line. Keygens are used to create pirate versions of software. If you feel that PLC related software is too expensive pirateing it is not the answer. All this does is make software more expensive for everyone else.

If your a student make a case in writing directly to the company involved and they may be more willing to help than you think.

You don't have to call. You can use email.

I'll try to write a logarithm instead
Would that be a base-10 logarithm or a natural logarithm?

Let me get this straight. You have purchased a legitimate copy of the software, and rather than make a simple telephone call to register it and get the activation code, you would rather spend your time trying to figure out how to generate the activation code on your own????? I hope you'll pardon my skepticism.

I will spend my own time building the keygen as I think, and you will probably agree, that I and you should decide how to waste our own time and not have to wait on the phone between Mon-Fri 8- 6 to ask to use something that is bought and paid for.

Happeeman,

I installed ME 4.0 recently, and actually I was somewhat frurstrated by the whole process. However I took one simple phone call to resolve the problem. The GE tech was very supportive and patient and walked me through the entire process from beginning to end. If you actually have a ligitimate copy and it's regestered than you'll spend, and/or waste a lot less time by making a simple toll free phone call.

Happeeman, here's another way for you to waste your time so that you don't have to compromise your principles by registering and authorizing your software. When you install CME, you can run it for four days without registering. After that, you simply have to uninstall it and then reinstall to get another four days. None of the work you do during the four day period is lost during the uninstall/reinstall process, so you can continue doing it indefinitely.

If it's so disgusting for you to have to contact GE Fanuc to get the authorization code, send me a screen capture of your system with the serial number(s) and the site code, and I'll contact GE Fanuc for you to get the authorization code and email it back to you. That way, you'll protect your anonymity. You won't get any of that disgusting spam from them advising you when free upgrades become available.

The procedure for registration/authorization is pretty straightforward. Why you buy a legal copy of the software, you get a serial number. When you install the software on your computer, you type in the serial number. The software then gives you a 'site code' which is a long (20-odd character) hex number. You send this code to GE Fanuc by telephone, fax, or email and they run it through their key generator and send you back the corresponding authorization code which allows the software to continue running beyond the four-day trial period.

The preceeding is from my memory, and since I haven't had to register anything with GE Fanuc in the last several months, my recollection may be fuzzy.

Frankly, I don't understand Happeeman's objections to the system. However, someone who wanted to make unlimited bootleg copies of the software would be after the same sort of key generator that he's seeking. Given that, I think Happeeman can understand why I'm sceptical about the purity if his motives.

OFF THE SUBJECT

I just bought CME, Do you guys like it? Is there a prefered software on the maket? I hear Wonderware alot!

I need to place it on its own server and keep placing projects on for monitoring off sight across the web.

Note: I had some problem registering the CME, the code they gave me on the internet didn't work. I called and it was quick.

Aaron,

I really rarely use CME, and I have little to compair it to in windows versions but DirectSoft. Personally I prefer the AD product line in general.

I had the same issue as you did with the install, but GE was very helpfull.

Steve, as a good American I do understand your willingness to abide by what ever rules/regulations you are delt no matter the cost. I, however disagree. The simple fact of the matter remains, "I PAID CASH FOR A PRODUCT THAT IS NOT COMPLETE!" now these dirt bags want me to waste my time waiting on them when legitimatley they should have supplied me the correct tools unconditionally to finish the job. I don't personally like to be confrentational but Steve, really, you beleive we should all just pay the thousands of dollars that these companies demand each year for software that is sub standard and requiring further expendatures? Oh, and by the by, from yur earlier post I would love to send you my serial number and site code but that would be illegal. Thanks any way.

Respectfully Yours

You seem a little defensive??? The fact of the matter remains that you have spent more time and expense posting to this thread than you would have calling GE.

With the package that contained CME there should be a document titled "Software License Key". in the lower left hand corner of this document there shoud be a number GFJ-1003. On the top line of the document you will find the serial number. The second line has a password. The Serial number & Password will give you access to the Authriization code from GE. There are 4 simple steps written on this document that tells you how to obtain the Authorization Code, by using one of four options, web, phone, fax or email. Once you get the Authorization Code write it down on this document for future reference. The code I got is a 16 digit alpha-numeric code broken down into 4 - 4 digit strings. It is my belief that the CD has a unique code that will require the proper Authorization Code. I dont think that another Authorization code will work.

As distastefull as it may seem to you, it seems that you have no choice but to call the toll free number, or shoot them an email.

Good luck with it!

Mike.
