Can somebody please explain this to me again

Can somebody please explain this to me again. I've attached a a graphic image of a proximity switch.On the image there is a load attached.
What won't sink in is the type of load that is being used in this application. For the purpose of my trainer, what can I use for a load?

And because of 120vac input plc that I have, I can not use the proxi as an input, I have to use it some other way with my trainer. I have a bunch low voltage relays and power supplies if it going to help...

"LOAD" could be the relay coil. The coil voltage will need to be the same as the rated voltage of the proximity switch. Then you will need to use a contact from that relay to switch the 120 VAC supply to the PLC input.
