Allen Bradley plc 5/20 dh+ comm problems.

this weekend we added an Ethernet card to the rack. Both of the DH+ channels, A and B, appear to be working, however, when I plug my dh+ cable into the 8 pin port I cannot see the plc, the network, nor the hmi (a panelview 550).
both the A and B comm indicator lights are on and both solid. I looked at the plc's channel config, and adjusted linx accordingly, but am getting nowhere.
I need to download a revised hmi app to the 550, but can't see it.

the plc can't be shut down.

I got it.

After changing the DH+ speed to 230.4k, I restarted linx, but saw nothing. I changed my station number to something safe, in this case 65, but still saw nothing.
After lowering the station number, for hopefully marginally faster browse times I restarted linx.... and viola! Success....


why's still a mystery, but this isn't the first time I've had to restart/reboot to get linx to work. Have a similar issue with the usb-dh485 configuration.


one strange thing is that I needed to remove the dh+ connector from the hmi momentarily in order for it to show up in linx.
